Hello, my name is Ricki!
I am a Mohawk College Recreation Therapy program graduate, born and raised in London, Ontario. I graduated from the fine art foundations program at Fanshawe College and briefly pursued a career in tattooing. I have a strong passion for travelling, hiking, and fishing; when I’m not supporting seniors in their recreation endeavours, I operate my food truck in Nova Scotia.
From fine arts to music touring to culinary management, my passions have allowed me to accumulate expertise I put into use every day while administering therapeutic recreation to my clients. Here are some key points:
Traveled, performed, recorded music, and volunteered for charities nation-wide
Owner of Jonesin’ for Cake, specializing in Fine Art Cakes and Cookies
Executive chef with a culinary team that provided seniors with high-quality meals, and a culinary program in partnership with the Therapeutic Recreation Team
I have studied extensively over the past two decades in a multitude of disciplines, leading to an educational career spanning the Ontario College of Art and Design, Fanshawe College, Canadore College, and most recently, Brock University.
Throughout my journey, I have participated in diverse pursuits, encompassing music, painting, culinary arts, and volunteer work. Overcoming obstacles, including my daughter’s leukemia battle, has reinforced my determination and led me to discover my true calling in Therapeutic Recreation.
My passion is motivated by my mission to continue leading with connection, creativity and curiosity. I kick down doors so others can walk through them.
