Each session is designed to immerse you in nature’s splendor while offering uniquely Canadian experiences. Attend one or subscribe to all four events to be scheduled in August, October, January/February and April.
Forest bathing, or “shinrin-yoku,” is a Japanese practice that involves immersing oneself in the forest atmosphere to promote relaxation and well-being. It is not about vigorous exercise or hiking but rather about slowing down and mindfully engaging with the natural environment through all your senses. By taking in the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest, participants can reduce stress, boost mood, and enhance overall health. This mindful interaction with nature provides a sense of peace and a deeper connection to the natural world.
In Summer, delight in bird watching as you learn to identify various species by sight and song. Explore the forest floor, discovering animal tracks in the mud and learning about the creatures that inhabit these woods. As Fall approaches, marvel at the kaleidoscope of colors in the changing leaves and enjoy guided walks that highlight the season’s stunning foliage. You’ll also have the opportunity to forage for wild mushrooms and berries, deepening your connection to the forest’s bounty.
Winter brings a serene, snow-covered landscape where you can experience the magic of maple syrup in the snow, a cherished Canadian tradition. Learn how to tap maple trees and savor the sweet results of your efforts. Enjoy the crisp, refreshing air as you trek through snowy trails, observing how wildlife adapts to the colder months.
Spring signals rebirth and renewal, with sessions focused on the discovery of wildflowers and the awakening forest. Engage in guided meditations surrounded by blooming flora and listen to the symphony of birds returning from their winter migrations. Explore the forest as it comes back to life, with fresh growth and vibrant greenery all around.
Each session in our Forest Bathing Series is a celebration of Canada’s natural wonders, providing a peaceful retreat that fosters mindfulness and a deeper appreciation for the environment. Join us for an unforgettable journey through the seasons, where nature’s beauty and Canadian traditions blend seamlessly to create an enriching and serene experience.
