We are all works in progress and so is this website! More to come...
Build with us.
We are currently rebuilding our website to reflect our expanded community, values, and services.
If there is something you would like to see at JJRT, please write it below:
Our Philosophy.
We are artists. We are therapists.
We are a community.
We are a movement.
We believe leisure is a right — not a reward.
It’s not something you earn. It’s something you deserve.
At JJRT, we use leisure to spark curiosity, creativity, and connection in ways that feel personal, purposeful, and fun.
Through leisure, we find our rhythm, rest, and the freedom to be messy.
We’re here to walk beside you, one meaningful experience at a time.
Fuck hustle.
Rest is resistance.
Play is power.
This is recreation therapy.
Our Model.
At JJRT, we’re rooted in therapeutic recreation and inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy. But like any living, breathing practice, we continue to grow. We believe in co-learning and co-creating. We don’t prescribe or diagnose. Instead, we build experiences together — guided by curiosity, creativity, and connection.
Our work has expanded to include the idea of leisure as resistance. We see rest and joy not as rewards, but as essential forms of protest in a world that often demands too much and gives too little in return.
Leisure is Essential
We do not treat leisure as a luxury. We use it as a core tool for healing, growth, and self-expression
Whole Person Care
We see the full picture. Our work goes beyond symptoms to support your story, strengths, and goals.
For the Overlooked
We support people often left out of traditional systems — including folks navigating neurodivergence, trauma, mental health, and burnout.
Therapy That Feels Like Living
Hands-on, creative, and meaningful — our sessions include art, movement, play, and reflection, grounded in science.
More than a Practice
Through mentorship, workshops, and our leisure learning initiatives, we’re building a community — not just a clinic.
Co-Created, Not Prescribed
There’s no one-size-fits-all here. We build experiences with you, not for you — always centered on dignity, autonomy, and purpose.
